Richard Albert Ohler, Jr. is a Baltimore County Maryland slumlord and President of R.A. Ohler Plumbing & Heating, Inc., a company that has a bad reputation for negligence towards its clients. Never do business with this guy. Very negligent and untrustworthy.

R.A. OHLER PLUMBING & HEATING BUSINESS REVIEWS:

Overall Poor to fair

Well first they tell me to take off work. Then after they are an hour late I call. I hear the lady yelling back and forth at Richy saying "I told you I scheduled this you said ok now the lady(ME) is waiting and were booked".. She come backs and tells me that they've had a few call outs and Tomorrow will be the day. Bright an early 7:30am. Well at 9:45am a man named Ed shows up smoking empty handed, with his helper carrying all his tools and a truck that looks likes its been in a war. He then attempts to find my leak. He cursed more than any man I've ever heard. Note my 11 year old son was home as it was summer. As his helper runs in and out bringing everything new and used trying to stop my leak. Meanwhile the lady back at the office calls and says sorry there late they should arrive at 1pm. I inform her that they have been at my house and she just hangs up. After a few hours the leak is fixed and I get my 745$ bill for 4ft of CPVC and some elbows. Not to mention Ed did more Texting and talking on his phone as Mike or Mick his helper did most of the work. Every now and again Ed would step in and ask him what The F is taking so long but didn't once attempt to help the young boy. I was pleased to see I was charged extra for the helper who did all of the work(sarcasn). Then that night one of the Glue joints exploded and ruined my ceiling. I am still fighting to have this paid for and have filed a complaint with the BBB. I will update on what happens.

awful company, doesn't follow up. awful company that doesn't follow up....

i had just moved into a house where they did all the original plumbing (complete rehab), and one day there was water pouring down from the ceiling.

they came out and found that a piece of pipe had never been glued to another piece when the original work was done. easy fix but it left several areas of drywall damaged by water, plus the holes and cutout in the ceiling where they had to access. They assured me that they would have the owner contact me asap and have their guy repair all the drywall that was damaged by their improper workmanship. well over the next several weeks the only respone i could get from the girl that answers the phone was that "we are busy" or "I'll have someone call you". This after demanding to speak with someone several times. Needless to say I have already filed a complaint.

Never showed up.... My wife and I just bought a house in Woodstock, MD. We noticed that we were having a problem in the basement bathroom, as water was overflowing out of the toilet and even backing up into the bathtub. It got so bad that we were unable to use water at all in the house because it kept overflowing in that bathroom. I was fairly certain that we had a stoppage in the main line, and that it needed to be addressed ASAP.

I used Google to find a plumber based in the Woodstock area so that we could have someone respond to our situation quickly. I called Ohler Plumbing around 9 AM and spoke with a polite woman who told me that she would send a technician out to our home between 3 and 5 PM. Well guess what, NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP! We had waited patiently all day for them to come, not using any water at all. Finally at 5:20 PM, I called them to ask if they were still coming...perhaps they were just running late. Well, I left a message on their answering machine, but never received a call back.

Frustrated, I used Google again to try to find someone to respond to our situation and help us out. Called Roto-Rooter, and they had a techician at our house within an hour! Tech showed up at 7:30 PM, snaked the main line, and was finished by 9 PM!

I felt compelled to write this review to warn others about Ohler Plumbing. While I certainly understand that sometimes things can happen, it is completely UNACCEPTABLE to not even call a customer to let them know that you are either running late, or will not be able to make it out during the scheduled time. Use this company at your own risk. And if it's an emergency, I highly suggest using a different company. In our case, Roto-Rooter was great.
